Transformation Tuesday
Spring is officially here, which means we can finally spend time outside!
Is your front entrance accessible? Is it ready for the spring?
The BFA, LLC. team just finished this front deck and ramp in Dearborn Heights, MI.
Now our client will be able to soak up the sun, on the porch, while in her wheelchair. Remember, accessible modifications are all about Quality of Life! I think it is safe to say that our client will be living a better quality of life with her new deck and ramp.

Why use HARMAR Pinnacle Stair Lifts?
The BFA,LLC. is a certified dealer for HARMAR lifts. The most popular are the Pinnacle stair lifts.
Why use HARMAR Premium Stair lifts?
Commercial grade
- No maintenance required
- Hassle-free unit
- We do not have to repair these lifts due to their premium quality part and electronics.
- Made in the USA
- This means that parts and customer service are accessible and fast.
- An investment that will last a lifetime.
... But, why not use the cheaper brands on the market?
- Parts are made in other countries, which makes it more difficult to get parts and assistance.
- Bad quality
- The materials and electronics are low quality. This causes a lot of malfunctions and problems with the lift.
- Repairs are needed after 1 year of installation.
- Overall, this is more of a nightmare than an investment.
Lastly, HARMAR has three different Pinnacle Stair lift units, for three different budgets. All are premium quality and professional installed by a certified technician.

When it comes to accessible home modifications, especially assistive equipment, they have to be reliable. The main reason someone needs these services, is for peace of mind. The way you can have the peace of mind is when the products and the job, are premium quality and proper installation.
BFA LLC. has been working with assistive equipment, like stair lifts, since 2002. We have worked with the cheaper brands and they really are not worth it.
As always, we want to know what you think. Feel free to comment, email us or call the BFA LLC. office to learn more about accessibility solutions.

Spring is on its way... Hello ramp season!
The BFA LLC team took advantage of this beautiful, sunny ☀️ day to install this Garden City ramp. Luis attached it to the back deck, making the ramp a continuation of the deck.

Commercial Vertical Lifts
The BFA, LLC. Team works on Commercial jobs as well as Residential. This HARMAR Lift can be installed on buildings where a ramp may be too long. This lift requires our experienced team, with an elevator technician and ADA contractor, to get the job done.

Are you a Disabled Veteran?
BFA LLC. is proud to be on the Department of Veteran Affairs Contractor List for the State of Michigan. We have worked with disabled Veteran clients, whom have received Housing Grants from the VA. The purpose of the Housing grants are to enhance disabled Veterans quality of life by providing a safe, barrier free home, where they can live as independently as they can.
Through our experience, many of our Veteran clients have no knowledge that they have these grants available to them. And, much to our surprise, we found it difficult to find detailed explanations of their options. Thankfully, we found a document from Julian Gray Associates , where Cindy S. Alvear, clearly explained the grants available and the specifications to qualify for them.
The VA offers a few different Housing Grants:
Specially Adapted Housing Grant (SAH)
- Veteran may receive up to $67,555 for accessible home modifications.
- Veteran is only qualified if they were permanently disabled during service.
Special Home Adaptation Grant
- Veteran may receive up to $13,511 for any accessible home modifications.
- Veterans qualify if permanently and totally disabled as a resulf of Military service.

Home Improvement and Structural Assistance (HISA)
- Veteran may receive $2,000 to $6,800 for accessible home modifications.
- Veterans qualify if disabled as a result of service related or non service related conditions.
- Requires a perscription from VA facility or physician.
- " A HISA grant is available to veterans who have received a medical determination indicating that improvements and structural alterations are necessary or appropriate for the effective and economical treatment of a disability. The HISA program does not cover major modifications that are generally covered by the SAH grant program. For instance, handrails installed in showers are covered under HISA, while widening a bathroom doorway is not. A veteran may receive both a HISA grant and either a Special Home Adaptation (SHA) grant or a Specially Adapted Housing (SAH) grant."
